Holiday Outfits Part One

Hey everyone,

The Holidays are just in a few days and I have 3 out of my 6 outfits ready.  I am super excited to share them with you and who knows maybe, I'll inspire some of your outfits.  A little tip with Holiday outfits is not to go too crazy because a lot of pictures are taken during the Holidays and sometimes things go out of style very easily!  So avoid the "DID I REALLY WEAR THAT TO CHRISTMAS DINNER LAST YEAR?!?" and try to put new twists on classics.

CHRISTMAS EVE OUTFIT

For this outfit, I am wearing a bright red body con dress with a lace overlay.  The sleeves are a bit ruffled which gives the dress more detail.  I have no accesories for this outfit so far but I do have shoes.  I am wearing these gold gladiator-esque shoes... IF IT DOESN'T SNOW!  Tell me how there's no snow yet! I live in the Great White North (CANADA) and there is no snow where I live.  I am upset...

What I'm Wearing:
Dress: Dynamite
Shoes: Guess

CHRISTMAS DAY OUTFIT

For this outfit I am wearing this really cute but weirdly shaped black dress.  What I like is the gold in the dress.  If you can tell there are gold glitters in the dress which is why I chose these shoes.  My shoes are gold glitter shoes!  Also, I put this black ribbon around the dress to accentuate my waist more.  I also added this cute diamond studded ring for kicks.

What I'm Wearing:
Dress: Forever 21
Ribbon: ??
Shoes: Madden Girl by Steve Madden
Ring: R&W

NEW YEAR'S EVE OUTFIT

New Year's Eve is the time to kick it up a notch.  I stuck with an LBD with a sweetheart neckline and once again gold shimmer's in the dress to make it more interesting and New Year's appropriate.  I know a lot of people are wearing glitter and sequins so I chose black sequined pumps.  I adore these and I well... LOVE THEM SO MUCH!

What I'm Wearing:
Dress: Forever 21
Shoes: Madden Girl by Steve Madden

So that is it for my first part of my Holiday outfits.  I hope y'all liked this post and I will blog to you super soon.  Excuse me for being absent over the holidays I really just want to spend time with my family and I'm not ever on break until Friday (ahem, Thursday since I'm skipping).  Anyway, HAPPY HOLIDAYS for now! <3

Holiday Gift Guide for Her!

Hey y'all,

So it's that time of year, and I cannot wait!  So to kick off my Holiday Gift Guide, I'm going to start off with gifts for her.  Your best friend, mom, aunt, sister whoever she may be!  Keep in mind these are only suggestions and every person in different!  These are just what I would want or buy for people.

The first thing are Infinity/Loop/Circle/Eternity etc. scarves.  I got mine last year all from Windsor but I adore them.  Recently, everyone in my town has been obsessed with circle scarves and I know so many people that have these on their wishlist for Christmas.  They range in prices and styles.  You can pretty much find them anywhere!

The next thing, keeping with the Winter wear theme in a head warmer!  I personally love these and already have 3.  I would be thrilled to get more of these anyday!  They are super cute and really warm.  I know a bunch of people trying to get their hands on these.  It's the cuter version of a hat!

If you are willing to spend a more generous amount on someone, a girl never denies anything from Tiffany & Co., I know a lot of people would love to receive anything Tiffany for Christmas.  These gifts are are more expensive but do not worry if you can't afford it there are plenty of other gifts you can get!

Perfumes are something I love getting for Christmas!  I know perfumes can also be a tricky thing to get for someone.  If you're not sure about the perfume, you can get a sampler for $50 at Sephora with a card that can get them the perfume they liked the most!

Another generous gift would be a designer handbag!  Which girl wouldn't love a designer purse?  A little tip is to go to outlets, they usually have 20-30% off coupons plus the prices are cheaper!  This is a great gift for a great girl in your life!  Girls will usually drop hints if they want one by the way but a girl will never deny one.

Unless a girl is obsessed with make-up, I'd stay away from it, girls can take things super offensively.  Also, if you don't know exactly what someone wants, get a gift set.  During the holidays Sephora has a bunch of great value gift sets and some could be great stocking stuffers or Secret Santa gifts too!

If someone has a a charm bracelet from Pandora, Tiffany, Thomas Sabo or anybody a great gift idea would to give them a charm.  Charms range in price, they can be $30 to $1000 so there is a lot of options to consider when buying them.  Also, if someone has a Pandora, some companies like Personna can fit on Pandora's but the charm will be cheaper.  Try to get something of sentimental value too, like if Winter themed charm so she knows she got it from you during the Holidays!

CLOTHES!  I was hesitant to do this category because it's really touchy.  I know clothes are very common for presents but make one wrong move and everything to go wrong.  So make sure you know the person's style, size and favourite stores and brands.  If you've got that all down then go out and buy some clothes.  Always get a gift receipt just incase the person might already have that item!

The last thing on the gift guide for her is gift cards!  These are the ultimate gift.  Gift cards are more thoughtful than cash since it shows you put some thought into what she likes, it's suitable for any price range and there are endless options!

So that is the end of my Gift Guide for HER!  I hope you got some great ideas and I'm so sorry it took so long to get this up!  I've been working hard to get this up but it's that time of year where all major projects are due!  So feel free to leave more gift suggestions in the comments below or link your gift guide! XOXO <3

Tips And Tricks: All About Make-Up!

Hey y'all,

So, I got an e-mail the other day about making a new Tips And Tricks post on make-up.  I always thought I did one of these so I looked for it and realized I haven't.  Since I'm sick, which explains the lack of posts, I decided to seize this opportunity and finally do a Tips And Tricks about make-up.

1. Use Deodorant To Matte-ify Your Face

I know this trick sounds really weird so let me explain.  Just put some of your deodorant on your finger and apply it to the "oily" parts of your face like your t-zone.  Think about it.  Deodorant stops odour and sweat so it would absorb the oil like it does for sweat.  I would suggest making sure the deodorant is non-comendogentic so you don't break out as well as a scent-less deodorant.

2. Avoid Your Lipstick From Bleeding

Apply a clear brow gel around your mouth.  Another really weird tip but I used to do this all the time for dance.  Since I'd be moving a lot I would have to re-apply if my lipstick bled.  One of my friends taught me this trick which she learned from a MAC artist.

3. Chapstick As Primer

I've only done this twice as a glitter eyeshadow primer before I bought any primers (or knew they existed).  I would take some chapstick on my finger and place it on my eyelid before wearing heavy glittery shadows for dance when I was younger.  I bet this also moisturizes as well since it's chapstick.

4. Curl Your Lashes Without A Lash Curler

Scared of eyelash curlers or simply don't have one?  Well you can still curl your lashes!  Grab your best curling mascara and apply 2 coats.  While the mascara is still wet, take your blow dryer (on Cool) and point it upward toward your lashes to curl them!

5. Make Mascara Less Of A Mess

When applying mascara, apply it to your bottom lashes first.  This avoids the messy smudging when you apply mascara to your top lashes first.  Let's be honest who really wants mascara smudges on their nicely done eyeshadow or even eyelid for that matter!

6. White Eyes, Bright Eyes

This last trick is very simple and pretty much everyone knows this.  If you want a bright eyed look apply some white (or even skin-toned, champagne or light colour) to the lower lash line.  This will make your eyes look bigger and brighter.

So that is it for today's post and believe or not this one post has been in progress for a few weeks.  I hope you enjoyed this post and it was very helpful to you.  Let me know if you would like more of these "Tips and Tricks" posts and I will talk to y'all very soon with another post!

Look For It: China Glaze's Hunger Game Collection

Hey y'all,

I am super excited to say that China Glaze may be releasing a Hunger Games collection!  I am huge fan of the series and read the first book 3 years ago before the franchise blew up as big as it did.  I am an avid reader and really enjoyed the Hunger Games.  I found myself torn between Gale and Peeta and still have not made a decision to this day.  I am happy with the casting for Gale and Peeta too, I love both Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth.  So, enough random talk let's get into the collection!

Click on picture to enlarge it!
So all the colors are inspired by characters, symbols or events in the novel.  I don't know the exact details of the collection yet but it looks very autumn in my eyes with all the dirty colours but nonetheless, I'll still pick some up if they release it.  The collection is supposed to launch close to the movie date in March 2012.  I love all the colours in the top row and I think Cinna-mon is gorgeous as well.  I guess I have to wait for more detail to decide which one I like best!

So that is it for my post today, sorry for the shortness of it but I was just so excited when I heard about this!  What are your favourites of this collection and are you excited for the Hunger Games movie?  Love ya lots, XO!

Tag: Holly Jolly Holiday

Hey y'all,

I am super excited that December is here!  In December there's obviously the Holidays which gets me super excited!  So, lately I've seen the Holly Jolly Holiday Tag going around so I thought I would do it too!  So, let's get into it!

Favourite Christmas Movie?
I love the movie Fred Claus, it's super funny and cute but as for classic Christmas movies, I always watch The Christmas Shoes, which is super sad but I love it so much!  Of course there's How The Grinch stole Christmas which I've watched every year since I was like 2.

Are you on the Naughty list or the Nice list?
I hope I'm on the nice list, I haven't done anything THAT bad this year...

Show us an embarrassing Christmas Card photo! (WE KNOW YOU HAVE ONE OK)
My family doesn't send out Christmas Cards I would put a picture with Santa but I don't know where they are so you'll have to survive without them.

Have you ever had a White Christmas?
Yes!  I live in Canada and we get white Christmases a lot!  I love white Christmases because it's just so much more festive!

Where do you usually spend your holiday?
At my house or one of my aunts' houses with ma famille!

Play or Sing your favorite Christmas Song!
Well, since this is a video tag I'll just tell you the song and if your click the title, it'll bring you to the music video on YouTube.  My favourite Christmas song is Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays - N Sync

Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
Yea, I open a present every hour starting from 10 PM!  It's a tradition and since I have little cousins they love opening presents.  And we play Chris Kringle on Christmas Eve too.

Can you name all of Santa's reindeer?
There's Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen and Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen and there's the most famous reindeer of all RUDOLF!  Is that all of them?  I completely just sang that song to write that!

What holiday tradition are you looking forward to most this year?
I'm not sure, I just love the Holidays in general!

Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
FAKE!  I've never had a real Christmas tree, my mom just doesn't like them!

Hands down, what's your all-time favorite holiday food and holiday sweet treat?
ADVENT CALENDARS!  LOL!  Jokes, Nutella Hot Chocolate, White Chocolate Hot Chocolates!

Be Honest: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?
I love both because I love wrapping and buying but who doesn't like receiving them though...

Show us your tackiest Christmas attire (ex: Ugly Sweater)
I don't have one but I really want an Ugly Christmas sweater me and my friend Tara are on the hunt for one!

What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
Disney world but I love just staying at home for Christmas.

Does your family have a special holiday recipe you like to help make?
No, but we bake a lot during Christmas!

Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?
Well, this year I'm a pro but last year I sucked...

Most memorable Holiday moment?
My Christmas in 2007 was the best, it was just so fun.  That year we had the best holiday season.  New Year's was at my house and the basement has black lights, disco balls, strobe lights, DJ booth (my brother DJed), a bar (my cousin bar tended) and we all wore white so we glowed in the dark.  On the 27th we had a murder mystery party!  On Christmas eve we had a giant party at my aunts and on Christmas I went over to my cousin's.  It was bomb.

What made you realize the truth about Santa?
WHAT TRUTH?!

Do you make New Years Resolutions? Do you stick to them?
Sometimes and NO!

What makes the Holidays special for you?
I just love 'em to death!

So, that is the end of this tag and I will be back very soon with another post!  HAPPY DECEMBER! Oh, I tag you to do this too whooo (NEW DR. SEUSS RIGHT HERE).  XO
