Tag: Halloween

Hey lovlies,

So about half an hour ago I came back from trick or treating with a group of my friends and now Halloween is coming to a close so I thought to end Halloween 2011 with the Halloween tag so here we go!

1. Favorite Halloween movie?
I already answered this but Halloween Town!  I'm not a fan of scary movies so I'm gonna stick with my Disney Channel ones!

2. What age did you stop trick-or-treating?

I stopped two years ago but I went out this year so I just took a short break!

3. Favorite Halloween costume you have worn?

I actually don't know I guess my princess ones from when I was little...

4. What are you going to be this year?

I was Minnie Mouse!

5. Do you like going to haunted attractions?

... NO!  I hate them SOOOO much!  There are a bunch of haunted mazes in my town or around but I never go because I'm terrified!

6. Vampires or werewolves?

Why? Why do I have to choose?  So on team werewolves there's Taylor Lautner (my husband), Micheal Trevino (Tyler Lockwood from TVD) and on team vampires there's Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore) and Paul Wesley (Stefan Salvatore).  I just can't...

7.Favorite Halloween candy?
Those hamburger things... YUM!  Does anyone know what I'm talking about?  They're like hamburger gummies that I haven't had in forever!

8.Do you decorate your house!
No, I've never decorated my house for Halloween because I'm never in my neighbourhood for Halloween.

9.Least favorite costume
Boxer... that was a DISASTER!

10.Have u ever repeated a costume and what was it?

I'm good about not repeating costumes actually, I'll be the same thing just dress it up completely differently.

11.Do you believe in ghosts?

No, but I'm terrified of them!  That doesn't make sense...

12.Scariest Halloween

That's a whole other blog post!  I'll tell that one soon I promise!

So that was the Halloween tag, I hope y'all had a safe and fun Halloween and what were you for Halloween this year if you dressed up?  I would live to know for inspiration for next year!  Please vote for me for the Handmade reviews Beauty Blog Awards and enter my BCA giveaway!

How To: Be Minnie Mouse For HALLOWEEN

Hey y'all,

So today I'm doing what I'm being for Halloween this year.  The reason I'm Minnie besides the fact she is so cute is me and a group of friends are being the whole Disney crew: Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Daisy and Pluto.  So let's get into the tutorial.

PART ONE: MAKE- UP

Products Used:
- Urban Decay Shader Brush
- Too Faced Eyeshadow in Satin Sheets
- Sephora Eyeshadow in Tender Pink
- MAC Eyeshadow in All That Glitters
- MAC 217 Crease Brush
- NARS Eyeshadow in Lola Lola
- Chanel La Ligne De Chanel Eyeliner Duo in Noir Lame
- Dior Eyeliner Kohl in Noir
- Laura Mercier Full Blown Volume Mascara
- MAC Lipstick in Angel
- MAC Dazzleglass in Baby Sparks

EYES

1. With a clean shader brush apply a light pink shimmery eyeshadow all over your lid.
2. With the same shader brush on the same side pat a very sparkly pink all over your lid on top of the first colour to give it an extra sparkle.
3. Flip the shader brush over and apply a brownish pink to the outer half of your lid sweeping inner part of the lid to blend.
4. Apply a dark deep brown-pink to the crease with a crease brush.
5. Apply a thin line of black liner to the top of your lash line.
6. Apply some black liner to the waterline and smudge it with your finger,
7. Apply some mascara and add false lashes if you'd like since Minnie has dramatic lashes.

LIPS

I know these aren't my lips but the picture I took mysteriously disappeared so I searched up a picture of MAC's Angel lipstick but I couldn't find one with the dazzleglass on top.  Just imagine it really sparkly.

PART TWO: COSTUME

Look For It: OPI Nicki Minaj

Hey y'all,

I have a new Look For It for today and I cannot wait to share with you this new amazing collection!  OPI has done it again everyone!  How they come out with new amazingness all the time beats me but I have to admit, this collection is nothing like I've seen before, which is expected when we're talking about Nicki Minaj.

First off, I knew there were some colours I would love but not this many.  When I think of Nicki I think of someone who is really outgoing and creative.  I expected this collection to be two things: sparkle and hot pink.  When I saw the promo pictures I freaked so here are the nail polishes, just click on the picture to see a it bigger if needed!

I absolutely love the spin off of the names they did.  So now I'm going to give a brief description of each nail polish and for the record I did not make these up since I did not actually see them yet.

Superbass Shatter: " A record setting purple that 'shatters' your eyes"
Save Me: "I drove for miles just to find this silver-rainbow glitter"
Metal 4 Life/Metallic 4 Life: "This charcoal sparkle flies with stars in the skies"
Fly: "I came to win, to fight and... to wear this aqua"
Did It On 'Em: "A lusty little laquer that loves the 'lime' light"
Pink Friday: "Kick off the weekend with this pop! of bubblegum pink"

I'm really excited about Metal 4 Life/ Metallic 4 Life since I've heard both ways I'm not really sure.  It looks really pretty and is not like anything I own.  So that is all for today!  Let me know what you would like to get out of this collection and I believe it releases in Spring 2012 so look out for it!  Byee!  Oh, please vote for me and enter me giveaway if you haven't already!

So here's how you can be a cowgirl!

 PART ONE: MAKE UP

- Stila Lip Glaze in Seashell

EYES

1. Apply a shimmery cream eyeshadow all over the lid to act as a base.
2. Apply a gold eyeshadow on the inner 2/3 of the lid with a shader brush
3. Apply a taupe eyeshadow on the remaining 1/3 of the lid with the other side of the shader brush.
4. With a crease brush pick up a purple-brown colour and a bronze brown and apply that with a very light hand to the crease.
5. With a liquid liner, apply a very thin line to the upper lash line.
6. With a black pencil liner apply liner to your waterline and smudge it out so it looks worn out.
7. Curl your lashes and apply mascara.

For the lips, I decided to go with a shimmery purple-pink colour to give a very worn out yet very pretty look.  The look is overall neutral but it does have some glam to it with shimmer and the purple undertone of the gloss.

Hey y'all,

So as I announced earlier this month, I am doing a small giveaway based on pink products.  Originally, all the products from this giveaway had to has a portion of the proceeds being donated to breast cancer research.  Unfortunately, I could only find one product y'all would be interested in and that will be the mystery prize.  I felt bad only giving you one product so, I went out a bought some of your most requested giveaway products that I got from the giveaway form you filled out last time.  The amount of money I spent on the non breast cancer products was matched up as a donation to a breast cancer research hospital  in Canada, which I obviously cannot tell you since it is the closest one to where I live.  Thank y'all for being part of my blog and let's make pink just a colour again.  I've mentioned before cancer is a subject very near and dear to my heart.

I'm really sorry for that gigantic intro so I'm sure you all are waiting for the prizes to be announced.  The secret breast cancer prize will be announced when I announce the giveaway winner.  And now for the prizes:

How To: Be Supergirl for HALLOWEEN

Hey y'all!

So I have yet another Halloween tutorial for you!  Today's costume is Supergirl which is super easy to create and perfect for those last-minute costume ideas.  I've been Supergirl before for Halloween but I actually bought the costume and I like this version way better.  So enjoy!

PART ONE: MAKE-UP

Products Used:
- NYX Eyeshadow Pencil in "Baby Blue"
- MAC 239 Shader Brush
- Lancome Eyeshadow in "Marine"
- Sephora Eyeshadow in "Caruleen"
- MAC 217 Crease Brush
- Urban Decay Eyeshadow in "Gunmetal"
- Gosh Velvet Touch Eyeliner in "Cool Mint"
- CoverGirl Perfect Point Plus Eyeliner in "Midnight Blue"
- Yves Rocher Extra Volume Mascara in "Bleu"
- Sephora Lipgloss in "Perfect Nude"

EYES

The eye look
1. Apply a blue cream shadow all over your lid so the look looks more vibrant and dramatic.
2. With a shader brush apply a dark blue eyeshadow with lighter blue shimmer all over your lid.
3.  Flip the shader brush around and take a very bright electric blue eyeshadow and apply it to the inner half of your lid on top of the dark blue shadow.  Make sure to press it on and not sweep it on.
4. Apply a dark grey-blue eyeshadow in the crease of your eye to deepen up the look.
5. On your waterline apply a minty blue-green eyeliner on the inner third of your waterline.
6. Line the rest of your waterline with a dark blue.
7. Curl your lashes and apply some blue mascara

LIPS

For the lips I kept it very simple with a nude opaque gloss.  Since the eyes are very dramatic and the  iconic Supergirl blue I thought a nude lip would due.

PART TWO: COSTUME

Top: A random stand in a mall that I made an off the shoulder top - Bluenotes has some nice Superhero style tops
Skirt: Club Monaco
Socks: Aritzia - TNA
Shoes: Converse

So that is it for my Supergirl costumes.  If you noticed my costumes are very simple and teenager-esque. Anyone can pull off these costumes and they don't cost a lot to make.  Since I'm not actually being Supergirl for Halloween I just made this costume out of items I had in my closet.  So that is it for my Supergirl costume.  I hope y'all liked it!  Please vote for me for the Beauty Blog Awards!  This contest (I guess) means the world to me!  Blog to you very soon!
